Radio ZET's Bike Challenge in the Activy app

A sporty spring to the rhythm of Radio ZET

Summary

Let's get Poland moving together!

For years, Radio ZET listeners have associated April with waiting for the sound of a special bike bell. Ring, ring, ring... and whoever is first wins a bike!

The popular nationwide campaign "Rowerowy Kwiecień z Radiem ZET" (Bike April with Radio ZET) always came with visits to cities and plenty of active attractions.

Because of the pandemic, the organizers faced a challenge and a question: how do you keep the bike craze going across the country when live meetings should be limited?

The search for a solution and an idea for "Rowerowy Kwiecień z Radiem ZET" led to the cooperation with the Activy app in 2021.

A new feature appeared in the app back then, and the participants of the Bike Challenge were the first to use it! The organizers gave two-wheel fans a mission: cover 400 km in less than a month!

Radio ZET hosts virtually accompanied participants on this ambitious route, with short recordings of fun facts, congratulations and even jokes. At the finish line, Szymon Majewski and a bonus task were waiting! Radio ZET prepared prizes for the first 30 people who completed it.

Besides covering kilometers, discovering fun facts and playing for surprises, the campaign aimed to promote prevention and awareness of mental health problems in Poland.
‍
In April, 1,094 people joined Radio ZET's Bike Challenge.

1.5 million: that is how many sick notes due to mental and behavioral disorders ZUS received in 2020! So get on your bike, record your activities, release some endorphins and win beautiful red bikes too!

Let's extend the challenge with a May edition

All good things come to an end, but they can last longer than first planned, so Radio ZET decided to extend the campaign and add some variety this time. There was a new mission, new recordings, another kilometer goal and, on top of that, a competition between voivodeships (Polish regions)!

Each one, as a separate team, collected points by adding up the activities of its participants, the region's residents. The game was no longer only about the top places in Poland: there was also a "fight" for positions in the internal rankings, and Radio ZET prepared surprise prizes for the best 3 people. The May edition brought together 1,219 people!

Participants of Radio ZET's Bike Challenge covered a total of 395,428 km, which means they went around Poland 234 times!

Congratulations to all participants of the Challenge on the kilometers covered and their commitment!
